The Metro Tel Model MLT560 hand-held, portable Modem Line Tester allows local service providers and network installers to qualify POTS lines for modem use. This hand-held, portable test set will improve customer service, eliminate subscriber complaints, and reduce service time.
This easy-to-use, battery-powered tester qualifies modem speeds up to 56 kbps and modem data throughput up to 115.2 kbps with built-in data compression. Simply call any dial-up modem to establish a connect rate. Problems affecting throughput due to bandwidth limitations are quickly identified.
MLT560 functionality includes BERT testing with a test pattern generator and receiver when used with available CO module. The latest in microprocessor design incorporates an onboard, non-volatile memory to store up to four test configurations.
The MLT560 is furnished with a 4x20 LCD display, NIMH battery with built-in charger, and carrying case. A phone line jack and power adaptor is included, together with a serial port for optional printer to provide proof of baud rate testing. Metro Tel warrants MLT560 units against defects in materials and workmanship for one year.

Easy test set-up. The portable MLT560 field unit dials a CO module to initiate a test sequence, or dials direct to an internet service provider to establish a connect rate.
