The Super Cable Hound accurately locates and
determines the depth of buried cable and metallic pipe.
A Super Cable Hound locator consists of separate,
battery-powered transmitter and receiver units, together with a
tone probe, ground rod, and connecting cables. All components
are packaged in a compact, lightweight carrying case designed to
withstand rugged field use while being easy to handle and
operate.
The transmitter, which is an integral part of the carrying
case, is provided with two 15-foot leads to electrically place
it between the ground rod and the cable shield or sheath under
test. The operator can choose to transmit a steady tone or a
warbling tone. LEDs are provided to indicate transmit, power on,
and low battery.
The
transmitted signal is detected by a separate receiver and tone
probe. The receiver is a sensitive solid state amplifier housed
in a durable, high-impact plastic case with a built-in belt
clip. The receiver is equipped with a low-battery LED and a 60
Hz filter to prevent AC induction. The tone probe, which is
connected to the receiver by an insulated, two-wire cable, acts
like a directional antenna to pick up the transmitted tone. The
probe can be used while standing erect, eliminating the need to
"duck walk" during a test. It is also provided with a 45 degree
bubble level for fast, accurate depth determination.

The Super Cable Hound is designed for rugged field use and is
backed by our one-year warranty against defects in materials and
workmanship.
