The MetroTel 8455 is a rugged KS kick meter with
Voltmeter, Ohmmeter and polarity reversing switch. The 8455
measures loop resistance to identify and locate line faults. The
meter measures DC voltage from 0 to 100 volts and loop
resistance to 2 megohms with mid-scale ranges of 100,000 and
10,000 ohms.
The scale also shows a points value from 0 to 100. Accuracy
is 2% of scale. Switches are: On/Off also marked as ohms and
voltage; a polarity reversing switch used to kick the line; a
R/10 key; a zero adjust control for proper resistance checks.
Tests for ground, shorts, opens, crosses and splits can be
made. The line can be "kicked" using the reversing switch to
determine voltage balance between pairs and ground. Two 6-ft
test leads are included.
